Marc focuses on building and investing in early-stage genomics startups, as well as fostering an ecosystem of expertise and resources to accelerate value creation for portfolio companies. Previously, he ran Illumina Accelerator, US, where he helped build more than 20 pre-seed and seed-stage breakthrough genomic startups across therapeutics, diagnostics and tools. Marc was also president at Biotech Connection – Bay Area, an incorporated nonprofit accelerating innovation by bringing together academic scientists, entrepreneurs and investors. Previously, he was a program manager for the Rare Genomics Drug Initiative and on the life sciences investment team at Lam Research.
Marc earned his PhD in Computational Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, after receiving a master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering from University College London and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
